Child & Youth Services

We work to empower and encourage caregivers to take an active role in their children’s lives.

Early detection screenings are completed for prompt intervention in order to help children prepare for success in educational and social environments. Our school-linked services help reinforce the importance of school partnerships and are an essential part of our coordinated efforts to increase the access to mental health services for at-risk youth in our communities.

Enki provides support to parents to help strengthen parent-child relationships. Learn more about our family, child and youth services, including programs for infants through age five, full-service partnership for children, and evidence based practices below.

Skills Building

Staff offer skills-building services to help improve, maintain, or restore your level of functioning. Domains covered include coping and social skills, independent living skills, meaningful leisure activities, and holistic self-care.

Enhanced Specialized Foster Care

Enki’s Enhanced Specialized Foster Care program offers accessible treatment plans for outpatient mental health services, specifically serving families involved with the Department of Child and Family Services.

Via the Core Practice model*, Specialized Foster Care improves family outcomes through focusing on child and family welfare: identifying specific needs, expanding service availability, and improving quality-of-life for children at risk for entering the foster care system.

*The Core Practice Model is a deeper way to work with families to improve safety and outcomes for children. It helps children and families build supportive teams that enable them to identify their strengths and underlying needs in a trusting, positive environment. These insights become the foundation of more effective action plans for change, unique to each child and their family, all rooted in the strength of our communities’ support.

Child Services for Birth-5

Enki’s Birth-5 program supports the developmental and emotional needs of young children who are at-risk for developmental, psychological, behavioral, or social challenges.

Through PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy), children ages 2-5 can work through behavioral issues via parental “coaching” sessions.

Parent(s) can hear guidance from our therapist through an audio device offering in-the-moment coaching for helping manage their child’s behavior. This is an effective Evidence Based Practice we offer at many of our Youth Center locations.
